It is hard to overstate the influence that Aerosmith has had on the world music scene in their career that spans over 50 years. The band got together in Boston in 1970, releasing their first album in 1973 and churning out hits like “Sweet Emotion”, “Walk This Way”, and “Dream On” throughout the 1970s. Those songs saw them reach a level where they were one of the biggest hard rock bands on the planet.
More than any other song, it was their 1986 collaboration with rap group Run-D.M>C. that cemented the legacy of Aerosmith. That type of cross-genre track had never been attempted – let alone succeeded – to that point. It showed that Tyler and his group were able to respect other genres and move with the times to stay relevant, something that extended their hit-making days far past other bands of their time. Get your Aerosmith tickets now and be blown away on their farewell tour.
