It has been almost five years since the legendary Neil Young was last on tour. Now, for the first time since 2019, the Canadian-born singer-songwriter will perform 13 shows over three weeks starting in July. The only catch is that if you aren’t on the West Coast, you will half fly to the Pacific Time Zone to see the 77-year-old perform.
This tour has ten shows in California, two in Washington, and one in Oregon. The first four nights are all at the John Anson Ford Theatre in Los Angeles, beginning on Saturday, July 1. Young also hits venues in Cali, such as the Santa Barbara Bowl in Santana Barbara, the Greek Theatre locations in LA, and Berkley. He ends his tour on Sunday, July 23, at Oxbow Riverstage in Napa.

This is going to be a unique tour. All 13 dates will be solo acoustic shows, intimate sets with just Young and the audience. The singer also announced this week that there will be songs he has never performed live before, meaning that even fans who have been to dozens of Young’s concert dates will get a new experience this time.
“I don’t want to come back and do the same songs again. I’ll feel like I was on some sort of carnival ride. I’d rather be doing these others songs I haven’t done…. I won’t have to compare how I’m doing ‘Heart of Gold’ to [how I played it in] 1970, 1980, 1990, 2000, 2010, 2020.”
Neil Young, per Rolling Stone Magazine (June, 23)
Interestingly, the new live songs won’t necessarily be new material. These will be tracks from older albums that Young will blast out for the first time in front of fans in 2023. Get your tickets to see this rock icon today.
