New England Fan Fest 8 has added another former wrestling legend to its convention roster as none other than Ultimo Dragon has signed to appear at the con from 9 am to 3 pm on July 29 at the Crowne Plaza Providence-Warwick. Dragon – Yoshihiro Asai to his friends – currently wrestles and trains for Dragon Gate in Japan, and he is a true legend of Japanese Wrestling. The man credited with making the ‘Asai Moonsault” part of every Indy wrestler’s move set, Asai was one of the first Japanese wrestlers to bring back Luche Libre techniques from his time in Mexico. His accomplishments are too many toname, but Asai is a two-time All Japan World Junior Heavyweight Champion, a two-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion (NEW Japan), a two-time WCW Cruiserweight Champion, and induction into the Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame in 2004.
Jax is another massive name as New England Fan Fest 8 goes from strength to strength. Glen Jacobs, Mayor of Knox County, TN, and FKA Kane, signed on for the convention last month, joining the likes of Candice Michelle, Lisa Marie Varon FKA Victoria, and ‘SmackDown!’s No. 1 announcer’ Funaki at the con.
A growing collection of WWE, WCW, ECW, and Indy legends will make this the wrestling convention of the year in the New England region.
