The Seattle Seahawks will be looking to push on after a 9-8 season in 2022 that few saw coming. The Seahawks offloaded star quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos before the season began, then rode journeyman starter Geno Smith to the best season of his career.
If the Seahawks are to contend in the NFL West this year, they will have to track down the San Francisco 49ers, the team that was the class of the division last fall. The Seahawks host the 49ers on Thursday, November 23, with tickets to the Thanksgiving Day game selling for $200+ on Immortal Seats. The Seahawks’ last two home games look interesting, too, as the Washington state team takes on Pennsylvania’s best in the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, December 17, and the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, December 31.

Can the Seahawks remain dominant in the secondary?
Pete Carroll loves a team with options and flexibility. It is how he wants to build his teams – especially his defenses – as it keeps an offense guessing and allows him to adjust on the fly. The Seahawks have questions on the defensive line and at middle linebacker, but their secondary was outstanding in 2022 and has the ability to be the same again in 2023. Seattle sent Quandre Diggs and Tariq Wooden to the Pro Bowl last season, a season where they lost former All-Pro safety Jamal Adams to a season-ending quad injury in less than half a game. If Adams comes back at 100% – and there are some worries that he may have to start the season on the PUP list – then this secondary should be able to turn their play up a notch. This is because they added cornerback Devon Witherspoon with the fifth overall pick, adding more skill., size, and speed to an already-loaded unit.
