The New York Jets start a new chapter in 2022. Many said that the team was a quarterback away from being a serious contender in 2022, and the Jets went out and got their man as they pulled Aaron Rodgers out of Green Bay and into a different green uniform. The problem the Jets will have is that their division remains brutal and that the two other divisions they cross-play with in 2023 – the AFC West and NFC East – also have more than their share of outstanding teams.
Games to check out in 2023 included matchups with the Buffalo Bills (September 11), the Kansas City Chiefs (October 1), and the Philadelphia Eagles (October 15.) The Jets will be better in 2023, but will that amount to more wins than the seven they managed in propping up the AFC East one year ago?

Can the Jets overcome a monster schedule?
The first six games of the Jets’ nine home games in 2023 are brutal, and – depending on early season results – they might not be favored to win any of them. Week 1, they face the defending vision champion Bills on Monday Night Football, and there is no reason to think Josh Alle and his crew will be any worse than last season. Week 3 sees Bill Belichick come to town with the Patriots, not a game the Jets often win.
Weeks 4 and 6 see the two Super Bowl teams from last year at the Meadowlands, two of the favorites to be back in the NFL Championship game this fall. Week 9 is the Los Angeles Chargers, with Justin Herbert leading a team that can beat anyone, and then Week 12 has Tua, Tyreek, and the Dolphins heading north. Brutal.
