The 2022 Carolina Panthers got off to a miserable 1-5 start, fired head coach Matt Rhule midway through the season. Yet, they weren’t eliminated from playoff contention until the season’s penultimate week. In 2023, the Panthers have a veteran NFL head coach in Frank Reich, who went 40-33-1 with the Indianapolis Colts between 2018 and 2022, and they have their quarterback of the future after taking Bryce Young out of Alabama with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
That should result in a level of excitement, but tickets to Panthers games are still more than reasonable. Immortal Seats has tickets to the home opener – a game played in primetime on Monday, September 18, against the division rival New Orleans Saints – for under $70 for the cheapest ticket. That seems to be the high ticket price, with exceptions made for the games against nationally followed teams like the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers, which command more, and considerably more in the case of the ‘Boys.

How long will it take Bryce Young to adapt to the NFL?
This is always the biggest question with rookie quarterbacks that are thrown to the wolves from the start of their NFL careers. Most opening-day starters as rookies are in that position because they are on a bad team. The 2023 Panthers certainly aren’t the worst franchise that a rookie quarterback has ever started for, but they had an early pick in the draft for a reason. Add in that they traded away D.J. Moore, their best wide receiver who would have been a huge help to Bryce Young, and it is not exactly an ideal situation for the Crimson Tide alum.
The Panthers will have to be patient with Young. It is never wise to write off a season, but Carolina is essentially hitting the reset button with their new quarterback. Expect to see a ton of growth from Young as the season progresses, even of the wins don’t come in to prove it.
