The Eras Tour
Taylor Swift broke the internet when tickets went on sale for her 2023 Eras tour that begins on Friday, March 17, 2023, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
The US leg of the tour saw 3.5 million people register for the presale, with the 2.4 million tickets sold on release day breaking the all-time record for tickets sold by one artist in a single day. Thankfully, those unable to beat the internet still can buy tickets for what should be an iconic show, thanks to Immortal Seats.
The reason that the Eras tour is breaking records is that this is the first time that Taylor Swift has toured in four albums. Her Lover (2019), Folklore (2020), and Evermore (2020) albums were not accompanied by tours in large part due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Add in that Midnights (2022) was seen by many as a return to form – or at least a return to the pop sound that made Taylor famous – and it is easy to see why here sixth headlining concert tour has already smashed so many records.
If no more shows are added – something that can always happen with an artist as in love with performing for live crowds as Taylor is – then this will be a 52-show tour that takes in most of the biggest stadiums in the US. The initial plan for the tour was just 27 dates, but that has already doubled in size due to poplar demand. That means that the Eras tour is Taylor’s biggest to date, surpassing the 38 dates of her Reputation Stadium tour. There will be international dates added in the future, but all cities on the calendar will get at least two shows from the music superstar.
The tour starts with a bang, with openers Paramore and Gayle lined up for the shows in Glendale. Gracie Abrams will be accompanying Swift for much of the tour, with other openers including Girl in Red, Beabadoobee, and Phoebe Bridgers. The Eras Tour also ends in epic fashion, with five confirmed dates at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California.
