The UK music scene is churning out interesting sounds, and one artist music lovers should get to know is Bakar. Abubakar Baker Shariff-Farr (or Bakar) sits more in the indie-rock genre than he does grime or hip-hop. Still, his unique blend of sounds and styles has seen him receive critical acclaim for his original mixtape and his two studio albums, 2022s Nobosy’s Home and 2023s Halo.
Bakar will be touring the US and hitting iconic music venues for two stints in 2024. His first set begins on Sunday, February 25, at The Showbox in Seattle. It takes in just five shows – including one at The Wiltern in Los Angeles on February 28 – before ending on Wednesday, March 6, at White Oak Music Hall in Houston. The second set starts on Tuesday, June 4, at Danforth Music Hall Theatre in Toronto. This set is slightly longer, with shows at venues like the House of Blues in Chicago and Paradise Rick Club in Boston, before it wraps up on Friday, June 14, at Center Stage Theatre in Atlanta.
