For The New York Jets, Taylor Swift Is The New Aaron Rodgers

This was supposed to be the season when the New York Jets turned the corner. The addition of Aaron Rodgers at quarterback was supposed to be the missing piece for a team with good receivers, a potentially great running game, and a stacked defense. The Jets sold a heap of tickets on the Rodgers hype – and picked up a slew of primetime games in the process – before A-Rod lasted less than a full series on opening day before rupturing his Achilles tendon.

The Zach Wilson era is back, which is not good. Jets ticket sales fell apart on the secondary market, and at 1-2 with the 2-1 Kansas City Chiefs heading to the Meadowlands on a Sunday night, a half-empty stadium was to be expected. Wouldn’t it be ironic, therefore, if Taylor Swift was the reason for yet another sellout at MetLife Stadium, that is, this time, nothing to do with her insanely popular ‘Eras’ tour?

Let me catch you up if you have been living under a rock. The celebrity pages are buzzing with the possibility of a budding romance between Tay and Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce. The singer is on a break from her tour and was seen in the luxury boxes at Arrowhead last weekend watching Kelce play. Given that she lives just across the river in New York, it is certainly not out of the realm of possibility that she could show up to watch his second game in a row this weekend in New Jersey.

On the back of this, ticket sales have surged. Be it football fans (probably not), Swifties (potentially), or just people looking to see what all the hype is about (maybe), the Jets sold more single-game tickets in a day for this one than they had all season. Get your tickets from Immortal Seats for less than $100 to see for yourself if Taylor is watching Travis on Sunday Night!
