Frozen – The Musical may have ended its run on Broadway, but the show that takes the 2013 Disney movie and brings it to the stage is still doing roaring business on its national tour. There is still a London West End version of the show playing daily, but the only way to see Frozen – The Musical in the US is on tour. Dates have been announced all the way through the middle of 2024, but there are some gaps in the schedule that I would expect to be filled nearer to the time.
The tour is currently playing at the Civic Center Music Hall in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where it will be until the beginning of April. Over the next few months, other locations include Marcus Performing Arts Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, The Orpheum in Omaha, Nebraska, and Schuster Performing Arts Center in Dayton, Ohio.
Check out a full list of dates and venues at the end of this post.
Frozen – The Musical – like the movie – is focused on the relationship between sisters Anna and Elsa. This movie has – and is still – touching children’s hearts worldwide, so what better time to introduce them to the magic of theater and live performances than with a story that they will find familiar? All their favorite characters are present and correct here, while ‘Let it Go’ is sung with as much gusto and passion as you would expect.
The score for the movie featured eight songs; in the musical, you will be treated to around 20. Soaring power ballads and expositional pieces are mixed in throughout the musical, digging deeper into the Frozen Universe and fleshing out characters from the movie. This is a show to catch when it stops near your location.
