Kevin James is best known for playing the role of Doug Heffernan on “The King of Queens,” but he is a long-time standup comedian with a record of putting on outstanding shows. James will be touring again in 2023, continuing his “Irregardless” Tour at venues across the country. This tour continually adds more dates, so check this blog and Immortal Seats often to get tickets when they become available in a city near you.
The tour picks up again on January 21 at the Paramount Theatre in Huntington, NY. This is a fitting place for James, given that the comic’s career began working in clubs and venues on the Long Island comedy scene. New York and the Northeast feature heavily in James’ dates, but there are also multiple gigs in the Southeast – like the one at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa, FL, on February 8 – and several shows up and down the West Coast.

James has been a comedy staple since “The King of Queens” premiered in 1998. It was a rapid rise to success for the comedian, with his big break having come just two years earlier when he was discovered at the 1996 Montreal Comedy Festival. That he was essentially given the keys to write his own sitcom at that point in his career was remarkable, but it was something that worked out amazingly for all parties involved as “The King of Queens” went on a nine-season run on CBS.
James’ work was at such a high level that he was nominated for an Emmy in the category of Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. He has since starred in comedy specials across network and streaming services while being the lead man in movies like Paul Blart: Mall Cop 1 & 2 and Here Comes the Boom. Many would point to his first role in a feature film, where he played alongside Will Smith in the comedy Hitch, as his best work on the silver screen.
