Rob Thomas and company are finally out on tour. Matchbox Twenty’s “Slow Dream” tour has been a long time coming, and now is the right time to gig around the country as the band supports their first new music in almost a decade. Their fifth studio album, Where the Light Goes, was released on May 26, and this massive tour – the boys will be playing over 50 dates in total – will feature both songs from their new work and that classic favorites fans aready know.
This is the third time that Matchbox Twenty has tried to tour this decade. The first was shut down by the pandemic in 2020, while the second was hit by Covid-19 again when the virus was deemed too prevalent for a Matchbox Twenty tour the following year. Expect to hear “Push,” “When I’m Gone,” and “Unwell,” songs that only get better with time as the 51-year-old Thomas still has more than enough juice in the pipes to get crowds singing along with the band’s greatest hits.
