The most glamorous city in the world will host the most glamorous sports event in the world a week on Sunday as the Kansas City Chiefs meet the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII at Allegient Stadium in Las Vegas. The Sunday, February 11 game is a rematch of Super Bowl LIV, which the 49ers seemed to have won as they were 10 points ahead entering the fourth quarter. Instead, the Chiefs came roaring back, with quarterback Patrick Mahomes leading them to 21 unanswered points in the final stanza for a 31-20 victory.
This rematch was set up after the Chiefs out-disciplined the Baltimore Ravens on the road and the 49ers out-experienced a young Detroit Lions squad at home in the two Conference Championship games. There are storylines everywhere for this one, and you can get tickets to the biggest sports event of the year through Immortal Seats!

The Chiefs are in the middle of a dynastic run, and this Super Bowl could be the tipping point regarding how they are viewed against the best teams in NFL history. Their 17-10 win over the Ravens – a scoreline that flattered Baltimore – was as much about the play of a defense that is the best that Mahomes has had during his run with the team as it was the skills of the quarterback, tight end Travis Kelce, and star rookie wide receiver Rashee Rice.
Playoff Mahomes is a different animal, and head coach Andy Ried has one of the best offensive play callers of all time working alongside him. The Chiefs became just the fifth team to advance to consecutive Super Bowls since 2000 (they were already on the list in 2019-20), and they have every chance of successfully defending their crown.
The 49ers have their own great story, with quarterback Brock Purdy rising from the tag of Mr. Irrellevent – the last pick in the draft – to winning back-to-back playoff games when he had to bring his team from behind to victory. Their 17-point comeback to beat the Lions in the NFC Championship game was stunning, though if they are to win the Super Bowl, it will likely be based on a ground game led by workhorse/playmaker Christian McCaffrey and not the arm of Purdy.
The Chiefs were vulnerable against the run this season, so the key to this game might be the 49ers’ ability to stay in the contest early. If the Chiefs get two (or even three) scores ahead, it is hard to see how San Francisco can run them down on the back of Purdy’s arm. Either way, this will be one hell of a respectable for the NFL as it finishes its season in Sin City for the first time. Get your tickets today!
