There are a number of Beatles tribute bands out there but none of them put on a show to the same level as Rain – A Tribute to the Beatles. Their tour never ends, with the show taking a month off here and there before hitting the road again to give fans an experience that is as true to the Beatles as possible. Upcoming tour venues include Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall in Sarasota, FL, on Friday, May 5, Majestic Theatre in San Antonio, TX, on Friday, May 19, and the Starlight Theatre in Kansas City, MO, for three nights beginning on Friday, July 21.

The history of Rain is interesting. The act leading to a Broadway show started as a band named Reign in Laguna Beach, CA, in the mid-1970s. The band played Beatles covers but also original songs and covers by other bands from that era. The band eventually found a regular gig as a Beatles cover band only at the Mine Shaft in Calabasas, CA, and before their star began to rise.
Today, Rain is every bit the spectacle you would expect from a show that has Broadway origins. It follows the Beatles through the various stages of their career, from their beginnings at the Cavern Club in Liverpool to their domination of the American music scene and the psychedelic madness of the 70s. There are set and costume changes to fit each era, and the band members do spot-on voice and character work as John, Paul, George, and Ringo. This really is an excellent show.
