Swifties: It Might Be Cheaper To Fly To Australia Than To See Tay In California

It is safe to say that Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras’ tour has been a little bit of a success. The pop icon has been touring North America for the last few months, putting on 50 shows by the tour’s end. The reaction from fans has been incredible, with her ‘Eras’ tour being the perfect mix of old and new Taylor, performing a massive setlist that runs for over three hours.

Prices are mental, with chances to see Taylor in North America running down. Her first show in California at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA, on Friday, July 28, sees its cheapest pair of tickets on secondary market site Immortal Seats going for just under $2,500 EACH. That means for you and a friend to go, it will cost a cool $5,000 before you even get to the merch stand.

This is why some Swifties are getting creative. The cheapest tickets for her February 24 show at Accor Stadium in Sydney, Australia, on Immortal Seats are priced at just over $500 each. The pair can be had for around $1,000. Roundtrip flights from San Francisco to Sydney for a week come at around $1400 each. That means it is about $1000 cheaper to take an 18-hour (total flight time) trip to the other side of the world to see Tay perform than it would be to see her here in your backyard as a NorCal resident.

Aussie fans know this. They have already been warning off Americans as they get just five shows to the 50 that Swifties could pick from in North America. Even so, it is a cool vacation idea if you have the money – and the time – to make it happen.
