Conference realignment has done USF dirty. While UCF was gladly accepted into the Big 12 fold, USF found no such home in the latest round of teams moving all over the place for money. It doesn’t make a blind bit of sense given the size of the Tampa market and how USF seemed on the cusp of big things in the non-Power Five world a decade ago, but winning just eight games in the last four seasons means that the Bulls got cold at just the wrong time when it came to appealing to big money suitors.
What this means for fans is that their huge home at Ray Jay results in some wild, affordable ticket prices. There is only one game on the entire 2023 schedule that has no tickets available for less than $15, with tickets to the game against Rice on Saturday, September 23, selling for an absurd $6. That one ‘expensive’ game is against one of the best teams in the country, the Alabama Crimson Tide, and this is the only time all season that fans will be able to watch a ‘Bama game for around $30. It is an astonishing bargain, one that goes to some that sometimes in college football, it is worth doing some digging into ticket prices when marquee teams head out on the road.
