Who are boygenius and where are they touring?

Everyone loves a good supergroup. From Cream through Bad Company to the Traveling Wilburys – the Wilburys steal the show here with George Harrison, Bob Dylan, and Tom Petty. et al. – each supergroup has left its stamp on the music industry. This includes boygenius (yes, it is stylized this way – with the indie rock supergroup consisting of Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridges, and Lucy Dacus. The three are known as solo acts, but after getting together in 2018 by accident – in as much as they were fans of the other’s work and became friends before thinking about collaborating – they have formed a very successful act.

This tour is a mix of Re:SET concert series weekends and solo headlining shows. The Re:SET weekends are Friday through Sunday, traveling, where boygenius will play alongside the likes of Clario. Dijon, and Shit Robot. The band always headlines one night of the three-night series in each major city and doesn’t appear the other two nights. The first solo healing show is on Tuesday, June 8, at the Arizona Financial Theatre in Phoenix. This is a short tour – mainly because so many of the weekends are taken up by Re:SET – and the last US gig announced is on Sunday, August 5, at Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado.

This tour is in support of their first full-length album, The Record. This album came out five years after their initial EP, and that gap led fans to wonder if they would ever see a full cable collab between the artists. Songs like “$20′”, “Not Strong Enough,” and “Trye Blue” have been atl station mainstays since they were released, so expectations are high that this tour will see boygenius live up to their potential.
