WrestleMania 39 Tickets & Thoughts

We are now less than two weeks – and almost a single week – away from WrestleMania 39. WWE’s showpiece event is another two-day extravaganza in 2023, with the company taking over SoFi Stadium in Inglewood (Los Angeles), California, the first weekend in April. Tickets are on sale for the nights of Saturday, April 1, and Sunday, April 2, while a two-day pass is obviously the way to go to get your feat of wrestling in. Add in Raw, Smackdown, and a host of Indy events, and no true wrestling fan should be anywhere other than L.A. in two weekends’ time.

Random ‘Mania 39 Thoughts

Bray Wyatt Can’t Catch A Break

Wyatt’s return to WWE has been underwhelming. Uncle Howdy muddies the waters – it feels like the angle hasn’t moved on in three months – while I have no idea what we should think about Alexa Bliss. Wyatt is a killer storyteller at his best, but his matches have always lacked something because the supernatural part of his gimmick needs protection. Now it looks like he will miss ‘Mania altogether with an illness. WWE has about a week to find a new opponent for Bobby Lashley if the illness will keep him off the show.

Randy Orton?

Orton has been off TV for almost a year with a back injury that some thought – and some still think – he will never be able to return from. Rumors are he will be around for ”Mania weekend in Los Angeles. Having Orton there and then not using him would be bizarre, so at the very least, I would expect Orton to appear on the Raw after ‘Mania, if not at the show itself.

Jay White?

I love me some Switchblade Jay White. No one knows if the man who made his name in New Japan will sign for WWE or AEW now that he is a free agent. The New Zealander has the talent to excel in either promotion, and what better way to debut a new top guy than to have him appear at The Showcase of the Immortals?

Cody or Roman?

The theory was always that Cody would beat Roamn, ending his record-breaking Universal Championship stint. However, it doesn’t look like it will go that way now. Cody hasn’t done anything wrong – he was unlucky to get his title shot just as Sami Zayn got hot – but the more the build goes, the more it feels like the American Nightmare isn’t going to win this. It is certainly time to take the title off of Reigns, and the problem then becomes if Cody doesn’t win, then who is left to take it off of him?

This should be fascinating.
